Understanding People in Customer Service

I’ve worked in Customer Service for over 9 years now. And no matter how many customers I’ve worked with, no matter how many job positions I’ve had, there is always one thing I’ve found necessary to succeed in this department: You have to be open to understanding other people’s points of view.

Being Positive = Being Fake?

As someone who considers myself a genuinely happy person today, I will get the occasional criticism or two about my attitude and my outlook on life. One of the most common ones I hear is that I am not “realistic” enough, that I am failing to acknowledge the other side of the coin, the negatives in this world.
