Why We LIMIT Ourselves!

๐ŸŒŸ We limit ourselves more in what we think we CAN do versus what we ACTUALLY CAN do. ๐ŸŒŸ

Thereโ€™s one BIG reason why we do this (and itโ€™s not just Fear):

๐ŸŒŸ We base our limitations on the people around us. ๐ŸŒŸ

No, Iโ€™m not saying you intentionally limit yourself or try to copy other people! What Iโ€™m saying is we are heavily influenced by our environment and the people within it regardless! ๐Ÿ‘

Say you have a close friend. But as you talk with other people you notice how often you use your friendโ€™s mannerisms and phrases. Youโ€™re not doing it on purpose; itโ€™s like they โ€œrubbed off on youโ€, right?! ๐Ÿ˜…

To give a personal example: I have a distinct laugh that everyone tells me comes from my dad. I have โ€œmy dadโ€™s laughโ€. Iโ€™ve never intentionally tried to laugh like him. But for all the time I spent with him as a kid, his laugh โ€œrubbed off on meโ€ (and maybe a dash of genetics too)! ๐Ÿ˜‚

As Jim Rohn put it: โ€œYou are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with.โ€

To add, this does NOT mean you should suddenly start getting rid of the people or things in your life you believe are โ€œlimitingโ€ you! This is simply a reminder about the power of self-awareness and your environment. ๐Ÿ™Œ

๐ŸŒŸ Having self-awareness is NOT the same as judging a situation. ๐ŸŒŸ

With greater self-awareness, the clearer focus we all can have on what our limitations are and where we can take the next steps forward! โค๏ธ
